PEPSI - MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL® PITCH, HIT & RUN™ COMPETITION Hosted In Waldoboro

On Sunday, May 15, area youngsters braved chilly temperatures and a threatening sky to compete in the first PEPSI - MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL® PITCH, HIT & RUN™ COMPETITION hosted in Waldoboro.

The competition, co-sponsored by the Medomak Valley Community Foundation and the Waldoboro Little League Association, tests the baseball skills of boys and girls age 7 to 14. Medomak Valley High School's Athletic Director, Matt Lash hosted the event on the school's baseball and softball fields.

The competitors tested their skills by pitching at a major league strike zone target, hitting baseballs for distance and accuracy, and sprinting from second base to home plate. Each competitor received a limited edition set of Upper Deck® baseball cards, and the top scoring youngsters in each age division received ribbons for overall performance and individual skill achievements.

The All-Around Blue Ribbon winners: Colton Spear, Brandon Soper, Isaac Durkee, Tom Gildersleeve, and Individual Skill Blue Ribbon winners: Travis Creamer, John Murray V, Dustin Osier, and Dustin Burnham all qualified for the PITCH, HIT & RUN™ Sectional Competition in Orono, in early June.
