The Pitch, Hit & Run Competition is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball®. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills. The competition includes pitching at a target, hitting baseballs from a fixed tee for distance and accuracy, and running from 2nd base to home plate for a timed score.
Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14 and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including the Team Championships at Fenway Park and the National Finals at the 2008 MLB™ All-Star Game®. The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champion along with the All Around Champion in each age group will advance to the sectional competition.
All participants must bring a birth certificate and complete a registration / waiver form prior to the start of the competition. For more information, please contact Kyle at the Waldoboro Recreation Department (832-5369).
