COMMUNITY FOUNDATION'S ANNUAL SUMMER FUN RAFFLE DRAWS TO A CLOSE
Waldoboro, Maine - John Blamey, President of the Medomak Valley Community Foundation, announced that this is the final week for the Foundation's annual Summer Fun Raffle to benefit The Waldoboro Community Project. The Community Project is a fund raising campaign to develop a recreation and community center complex on Town-owned land behind Miller Elementary School. Private donations will finance the bulk of this project, in a phased development plan.
President Blamey stated, "The Foundation is very grateful for tremendous response to the raffle. This year, we have increased the number and value of prizes for the raffle. The current value of prizes exceeds $1,300.00."
Summer Fun Raffle's grand prize is four Loge Box Seat tickets to the Sox vs. Twins game on Sunday, July 31st. In addition, there is an autographed picture of Jason Varitek, donated by the Red Sox, a $200.00 Hannaford Gift Certificate, donated by the Waldoboro Hannaford store, and a $100.00 Gift Certificate from Maine Sport Outfitters of Rockport, and Red Sox World Series Champion Commemorative Photo. In addition, there is a White Cedar 4-Ft. Garden Bench and White Cedar 6-Ft. Pyramid Trellis donated by Perley Bousquet.
President Blamey continued, "Tickets are available at various locations in Waldoboro, including Hillside Collision Center, The Movie Pizza Shoppe, John Foster Little League Field before most games, and from members of the Foundation. Raffle tickets can also be ordered on-line at the Foundation's website at www.themvcf.org/events.shtml, or by calling me at 832-7761. Raffle tickets will be available on Waldoboro Day, June 18, 2005. Our booth will be located at the corner of Jefferson and Main Street, stop by to learn more about the Waldoboro Community Project and take part in the raffle."
The raffle prize drawing will begin at 11:30 a.m., on June 18, at the Foundation's booth.
