Waldoboro, Maine -The VFW Hall in Waldoboro will be "Rockin" again on Saturday, May 5, 2007, with the Classic Rock N Roll sounds of the local band Pickled Beats. The Band is working with the Medomak Valley Community Foundation to present the 3rd Annual Spring Dance to benefit the Waldoboro Community Project.

The Community Project is a fund raising campaign to develop the Town's recreation site behind Miller School. The first phase of the project will build additional youth baseball, softball, and soccer fields on the site. For more information about the Project go to www.themvcf.org.

The evening of dancing fun begins at 8:00 p.m. and goes to 12:00 a.m. The cost is $10.00 per person, for reservations call 832-5143. This is an over 21 event, and ID's will be checked at the door. Along with the band, the kitchen will also be open selling snacks and soda, and there will a 50/50 raffle.

Band Manager, Jim Letteney stated, "The Band is very happy to have the opportunity again to help the Waldoboro Community Project reach its fund raising goals. The Project is a major enhancement for our youth sports programs. My long involvement with these youth programs has shown me they provide so many benefits to the children of Waldoboro and Friendship. The programs obviously teach baseball/softball/soccer skills, but more importantly, our boys and girls learn teamwork, conflict resolution, and gain self-confidence as they engage in healthy outdoor activities.

John Blamey, President of the Medomak Valley Community Foundation, continued, "We are very lucky to have the Pickled Beats help in our fund raising campaign. Their participation allows us to offer the community a fun activity, with the proceeds making a real difference for our children."

In closing, President Blamey and Manager Letteney stated, "We urge everyone who likes dancing and "Classic" Rock N Roll to make their reservations early for a great community event. Rock on Waldoboro!"
