Waldoboro, Maine - John Blamey, Tidemark Gallery, announced that Bob Butler, owner of HoBa Care®, Waldoboro, has become a business sponsor of the Paint the Town art celebration.

Blamey stated, "The business sponsorship program for Paint the Town is new this year. It is another demonstration of the local business communities' support of events that promote Waldoboro and the region."

Blamey continued, "We truly appreciate the support of HoBa Care® and their confidence in our event. The sponsorship program will allow us to enlarge Paint the Town, while continuing to make the event a valuable fundraiser for our non-profit partners."

In making his sponsorship, Bob Butler said, "We are pleased to support Paint the Town. It is a great event celebrating both the beauty of community and the skill of our local artists. We hope it will continue to grow and become a fixture on the State's summer event calendar."

The 2nd annual Paint the Town is on Saturday, August 18, 2007. During the day, artists create paintings from unique private vistas, as well as public sites in Waldoboro and Friendship. In the evening, these paintings, and other works, are sold during an artists' reception and live auction at the Waldoboro VFW Hall. A portion of the auction proceeds benefits four non-profit partners that help stage the event (the Medomak Valley community Foundation, the Medomak Valley Land Trust, the Waldoboro Lions Club, and the Waldoboro Public Library).

Paint the Town is funded in part by a grant from the Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. For more information about the Arts Commission, please visit www.mainearts.gov.
