Waldoboro, Maine – John Blamey, President of the Medomak Valley Community Foundation, announced the prizes for the Foundation's 6th Annual Summer Fun Raffle. This year the value of the Summer Fun Raffle prizes total more than $2,000.00.
The raffle benefits the campaign to complete construction of the youth athletic fields at the new Waldoboro Recreation Complex on West Main Street. The Foundation has financed the bulk of this project, through private donations. Its fundraising goal for 2009 is $36,000 to complete the fencing, adding scoreboard, dugouts, etc.
Blamey stated, “The Foundation is very excited announce to a great line-up of prizes for this year's Raffle. The top prize is 4 Loge Box Seats to the Boston Red Sox - Kansas City Royals game on Sunday, July 12, 2009. The 2nd Prize is unique this year, it is 2 VIP tickets to the U-2 Rock Concert at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, September 20, 2009."
The 3rd Prize is a $200 Gift Certificate for groceries at Hannaford. The 4th Prize is a $100 gasoline gift card, and the 5th Prize is a $50 Gift Certificate to Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport.
"The Red Sox have also donated a prize to the raffle again this year," Blamey said. "This year's Sox’s prize is an authenticated autographed photo of 2008 MVP Dustin Pedroia. The Team has supported our raffle for six years, and their gifts have helped our raffles raise over $10,000 for the Waldoboro Recreation Complex.”
“Tickets are available at the Waldoboro VFW on Monday evenings, at John Foster Little League Field during Little League games, and from members of the Foundation Board and the Fund Raising Committee. Raffle tickets can also be ordered on-line by going to the ‘EVENTS’ page at the Foundation’s website at www.themvcf.org, or by calling me at 832-7761,” said Blamey.
Blamey closed by saying, “Raffle tickets will also be for sale on Waldoboro Day, Saturday, June 20. The Foundation’s booth will be located at the corner of Jefferson and Main Street, so stop by to learn more about the Recreation Complex and take part in the raffle.”
